25 Weeks Pregnant-104 days to go
Ok so I am 25 weeks pregnant today and SO THANKFUL the temperatures have dropped out here. Don’t get me wrong it’s still HOT but not 110 hot more like 90 degrees hot. I have been sleeping much better for the most part and haven’t been so swollen. Ok so the big thing that happened was I went in last Friday for my glucose test to see how my body handles sugars and to test whether or not I have gestational diabetes (standard test)… I was supposed to fast from midnight until the test well by the time I got there it was 9 am and had been 13 hours since I had eaten and my last meal was a salad so nothing substantial. The thing is they draw blood then give you this sugar drink to drink then wait 1 hour and draw your blood again to see how your body reacts to the sugar….well after they drew the blood before I had a chance to even begin the test I felt super woozy and thought I was going to throw up. I asked if there was someplace I could lie down and on the way to the bed I woke up flat on my back in the hallway…I passed out completely. Thankfully there were ladies walking with me holding me on both sides because I don’t remember anything I just woke up on my back with ladies all around me and one holding my feet up in the air. It was very scary. I am glad I didn’t fall forward onto my stomach. Luckily they caught me and I guess just eased me onto the ground. Needless to say they cancelled the test and told me to not fast for more than 8 hours when I come back….it was super scary I have gotten light headed before but never ever completely blacked out to where I fall and remember nothing. I am now even more scared to go back and do the test again because I guess most people get sick from the drink and high of the sugar then sudden drop and having to give blood that second time and I never even go to that part. Also instead of doing just a 1 hour test my doctor wants me to do the 3 hour test where they take your blood 4x instead of 2x. I am hoping it’s just finger pricks instead of full tubes like they took the last time. I am going in this Friday (with Mike) so please say a prayer for me. I am eating something like pasta or rice at 10 pm then getting up at 5 pm to go so I will be testing at 6 am and hopefully able to eat by 9 am.
Mike put together the glider chair that my mom bought for me over the weekend and the window valance; I am so excited to see the room with baby stuff in it. Attached are some pictures from this weekend. Read below…baby is the size of a box of tissues….I am finally feeling like the size I should be.
